There are a lot of audio media players on the market, and the question is, do we need another one? Well, such a program should have extraordinary and/or very unique capabilities. Unfortunately, this is not the case with Spider. It is a one-of-the-crowd audio media player. It has basically the same features as many other players out there, like the possibility of creating playlists, a graphic equalizer, radio stream recording capabilities, and a nice but not so extremely easy-to-use interface. It also can rip audio tracks from CDs and convert audio files between the most popular formats.
The free version of the program has some limitations. For example, you can record only 5 minutes of radio stream each time. You can convert and/or rip one track at a time, and a "nag screen" appears each time you try to do so. Besides this free version, there is a Pro, paid version with more features like an unlimited radio recording time, last.fm support and batch-processing capabilities for converting audio files and ripping CD tracks.
The installation wizard suggests you to install the TuneUp iPlugin for iTunes, but you can decline to do so and still have the program installed in your system.
Record streaming audio from your computer to either wav or mp3 formats.
Great audio recording tool to grab any stream coming through your sound card.
